It is the belief of the founders of the Sandia Music Festival that where much is given, much should also be shared.

In keeping with this vision, festival activities will include outreach to Albuquerque Public Schools, which has substantial and evidenced need, within the our community.

Festival participants will also engage in a service project to benefit music instruction and accessibility of performance resources for the district.

In 2011, this will  involve the refurbishment and light repairs to instruments from different HS and MS programs within the district—at no charge to the schools.

Through the program’s encouragement of ongoing service, students not only become invested in their personal development, but also  in making a difference for those around them.  This is how tomorrows leaders are born.
